The Civil Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of civil construction projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a solid understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages work crews.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of construction.
- Working collaboratively with architects, engineers, and several other construction specialists
- Assigns daily labors to identified tasks, and mentors newly assigned labors.
- Supervises sub-contractors’ quality of work and their productivity.
- Orders and follows up on site material deliveries.
- Estimates material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Maintains safe working conditions on a job site and verifies workers are using provided safety gear.
- Ensuring that all works are carried out in compliance with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
- Ensures timely responses, actions and corrections to any safety issues.
- Interprets and understands the specifications and drawings of the project.
- Maintains the quality of work produced by crews.
- Conducts regular inspections of the work to check for deviations from established quality standards.
- Follows project plans and schedules and ensures that crews under his direction perform activities to meet production targets.
- Confers with managerial or technical personnel to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
- Analyzes work production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of construction.
- Reports on crew production, work progress and changes.
- Excellent time-management skills to be able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
